If your looking to add Journal like features to your apps, this is a quick and easy way to get there.

Shorten development time by dragging Journal-like note-taking capabilities into your existing applications rather than writing this code yourself. InfiNotes installs and integrates into the Visual Studio 2003 environment and is available from the ToolBox Tab. For more information or to download the free software, please see www.infinotes.com. Check here for instructions. I've been waiting for this to be publicly released for several months.

I'd hate to work the phones at Microsoft over the next few months. I'm sure they'll be swamped. It'll be interesting to see how long XPSP2 can withstand attack by hackers. Some give it a month or two until the first vulnerabilities are exposed... Well have to see. I think that Microsoft has raised the bar but the fight continues. The wholes in IE that are addressed by the service pack are crucial.

I do recommend that everyone should periodically audit the firewall exception list. To briefly explain, many applications have to access the internet to function, such as MSN messenger. The first time the application attempts to use the internet, you are asked by the firewall if you wish to permit it. I expect virus to exploit this over time. So to protect myself I check to see what's been granted access periodically.

To access the exceptions list, open the Windows firewall from the control panel and select the exceptions tab. Don't worry abort removing too many, the applications will ask again when they need.

ThinkPad x40 ...if it were only a tablet.

<trackback:ping>http://zinovate.com/weblog/services/trackbacks/235.aspx</trackback:ping>

Michael Gartenberg has a fairly complete review of the IBM ThinkPad x40 and has come to the same conclusion if it were only a tablet.
Great work. but this hits the sweet spot.

This feed is great, but I also realized I was yearning for a feed that listed the new releases, so here it is too:http://www.TabletPCPost.com/newreleasesrss.php

To help out I gave her the code at the link below that returns the top 20 most-downloaded apps at TabletPCPost. It's not finished, but if you're like me, it's probably useful enough in its current form.
Microsoft Dots! is a new interactive strategy game for the Tablet PC. The objective: Connect four adjacent dots with the pen to form a complete square.
